Behavior Modification (BMOD) supports individuals who experience challenging behaviors that may interfere with relationships, school participation, daily routines, or community functioning. It may be relevant when a child, adolescent, or adult has difficulty managing anger and frustration, following directions, respecting boundaries, handling transitions, or responding appropriately to situations. Services focus on identifying behavioral patterns, triggers, strengths, and areas where additional support may be needed, with services available to eligible individuals throughout South Carolina.
How It Works
BMOD may address concerns such as:
- Aggression
- Defiance
- Tantrums
- Impulsivity
- Elopement or running away
- Difficulty following directions
- Poor emotional regulation
- Inappropriate social behaviors
- School-related behavioral concerns
- Difficulty respecting boundaries
- Anger and frustration
- Difficulty managing transitions
What to Expect
Staff works directly with individuals to identify behavioral patterns and triggers while recognizing existing strengths and areas requiring additional support. Interventions may include teaching replacement behaviors, reinforcing positive choices, developing coping strategies, and practicing new skills in real-life environments. Support is focused on helping individuals apply appropriate responses across situations that may occur at home, school, in the community, or in other relevant settings.Let’s Start a Conversation
